Pictish Name Generator
This Pictish Name generator will give you 10 random Pictish names. The Picts were a collection of peoples who lived in what is Northern Scotland today. They lived during the Iron Age and early Medieval period. They came into contact with vikings and the Romans during their lifetime, the latter of which may have been responsible for the name 'Picts'. It is argued the word comes from the Latin word 'Pictus', meaning 'painted' and refers to the the popular belief most Picts had many tattoos. There is not a lot of evidence for this however, but it is a popular theme in works of fiction if only for the unique look.
Unfortunately there are not a whole lot of Pictish names, all of the ones in this generator are male and most of them belonged to kings or close, male relatives. Explore Pictish Names + 1000 + name ideas, though the pool is limited. I was only able to find 30 female names, listed in the 'About Pictish Names' section below, but I do not know how accurate these names are so take them with a grain of salt until a future update will hopefully shed more light. This Pictish Name generator reflects the available historical data.
