This Papal Name generator will generate 10 random names for popes. The pope is, of course, the Bishop of Rome and leader of the Catholic Church. There are also popes part of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria, and their names have been included in this Papal Name generator as well. The first 5 names are names used at one point by a Bishop of Rome, while the last 5 names were used by Coptic Orthodox Popes.

I did not add any numbers to indicate how far into a line of names a name might go. So no John IV for example. There were 21 Johns, 16 Gregories, and 15 Benedicts, for example, but only 1 Peter, Mark, and Francis, for example. So this keeps the results a little more even.
